Bohemian Toastmasters Club Contest

The Fall Competition 2009 cycle got underway at Bohemian Toastmasters on Monday 10 October.
There were two categories:

Humorous Speech Contest
Contestants give a prepared humorous speech of 5-7 minutes in length.
Table Topics Contest
Contestants give short unprepared speech of 1-2 minutes on common given topic.

The winners and placegetters were:

Humorous Speech Contest

1st place – Judi Challiner
2nd place – Anezka Novak
3rd place – Silvester van Koten

Table Topics Contest

1st place – Silvester van Koten
2nd place – Anezka Novak
3rd place – Tomáš Kohl

The number of entrants was higher than at the Spring Competition Cycle – it is clear that our club members prefer humorous speeches and table topics.

Both Judi Challiner and Silvester van Koten will represent Bohemian Toastmasters at the Area Conference on October 17 where there will be competitors from the other Toastmasters clubs in the Czech Republic.

The next stages of the Toastmasters International Competition cycle are:

Area D2 Conference in Olomouc on October 17
Division D Conference in Pardubice on October 24
District 59 Conference in Hamburg, Germany on November 20–22
